Schnabel says yield spike could dampen eurozone price pressures

ECB Governing Council member Isabel Schnabel linked faster consumer pass-through to a resilient economy and said global yield moves could cool inflation pressures.

European Central Bank Governing Council member Isabel Schnabel said high costs can be passed through to consumers more quickly when the economy is resilient, according to FXStreet.

Schnabel also said the economy may respond to the recent spike in global yields by dampening price pressures, which would return inflation to the ECB target more gradually.

The ECB is the reserve bank for the eurozone, with a mandate to maintain price stability by keeping inflation around 2%, FXStreet added.
