Fed minutes in focus as bond yields rise on energy and inflation fears

Oil has trended higher since the July 8 collapse of the US-Iran ceasefire, keeping inflation concerns front and center for markets.

A relatively quiet economic calendar is giving way to a more volatile week for markets, with investors watching government bond yields as they continue to rise on fears the energy crisis will worsen and fuel inflation, Action Forex reports.

Action Forex points to the ongoing US-Iran conflict as a key driver for crude, saying oil has been trending higher since the July 8 collapse of the US-Iran ceasefire agreement, while investors remain cautious because diplomatic progress has stalled.

The week also puts Federal Reserve minutes in the spotlight after a recent drop in market bets for an October rate hike, according to Action Forex.

Other scheduled items to monitor include ISM services PMI and Treasury auctions, plus additional updates from Canada on employment, Japan on wages, and ECB minutes.
