FHA opens optional production period for UAD 3.6 appraisal files
FHA said all FHA-approved lenders can begin submitting UAD 3.6 appraisals in its EAD portal immediately for Title II forward loans and HECM cases.
HousingWire reports that the Federal Housing Administration has opened an optional broad production period for its Electronic Appraisal Delivery portal to accept appraisal submissions in the new Uniform Appraisal Dataset, UAD 3.6, format.
The FHA said that during this optional phase, lenders may continue delivering appraisals in the legacy UAD 2.6 format, but each FHA case number must use a single format.
According to HousingWire, the change applies to all Title II forward and Home Equity Conversion Mortgage, HECM, loans, and FHA said the move follows completion of beta testing for UAD 3.6 in the EAD portal.
The outlet also noted that the FHA cited a separate time-limited waiver from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that allows some sellers to keep using UAD 2.6 into mid-2027.
