Open USD launches with $468 million in circulation via Stripe and Open Standard
Backed by cash and Treasuries, the token also launched on Tempo with more than $400 million in liquidity and was designed for use across Tempo, Base, Ethereum, and Solana.
Open USD, a new stablecoin backed by more than 200 organizations, has launched with about $468 million in circulation and a distribution partnership with Stripe, according to CryptoSlate.
The outlet reported that OUSD, issued for Open Standard, had 468.4 million tokens outstanding after a Sept. 30 debut, with reserve data showing about $468.45 million in backing split between $257.2 million in cash and $211.2 million in Treasuries and short-duration money-market funds.
Open USD also went live on Tempo, with more than $400 million in liquidity deployed across decentralized exchanges, stablecoin swaps, and bridges, CryptoSlate said.
CryptoSlate added that Stripe will partner with Open Standard to make OUSD available across parts of its payments stack, allowing businesses to hold the token through Stripe Treasury and use it with Stripe Payments and stablecoin-backed card products, subject to product and geographic availability.
