Point72 hires former JPMorgan equities central risk chief for risk tech
The hire brings Ashot Ordukhanyan from ActiveViam, where he led quantitative development for two years, Point72 said via an eFinancial Careers report.
Point72 has hired Ashot Ordukhanyan as head of risk technology in New York, adding a senior quantitative and risk specialist to its technology operation, according to an eFinancial Careers report.
Ordukhanyan joins from ActiveViam, where he spent two years as head of quantitative development, after previously serving as co-head of JPMorgan's equities central risk book for two years.
At Point72, he will move into a role aligned with how central risk book teams monitor and manage exposures created by trading desks, a skill set that the report notes can transfer to multi-strategy hedge funds using technology to oversee positions and manage risk across teams.
The article says Ordukhanyan has held senior quantitative strategy roles across major banks over a career spanning more than two decades, including 14 years at Goldman Sachs and later leadership roles at RBS and Deutsche Bank.
