Swiss franc gains safe-haven edge versus the euro, Commerzbank says

Commerzbank links the franc’s relative strength to higher global bond yields and renewed concerns about government debt.

FXStreet reports that Michael Pfister at Commerzbank argues the Swiss franc is increasingly supported versus the euro as investors respond to rising global bond yields and mounting worries about government debt.

He points to Switzerland’s debt brake and comparatively solid public finances as key advantages underpinning demand for the franc.

The FXStreet Insights Team also notes broader dollar moves in the same market coverage, including the US dollar retreating from 17-month highs ahead of the US Nonfarm Payrolls report.
