UK bookmakers that warned on offshore casinos had deals tied to them
The arrangement came to light after the Casino Secrets leak released thousands of files from Curaçao’s gambling regulator.
The Guardian Business reports that three UK bookmakers, which have repeatedly warned the government that higher regulation or taxation could push customers toward rogue offshore casinos, also benefited from a deal with Santeda, an offshore casino network.
The outlet says details emerged from last week’s Casino Secrets leak, which released thousands of confidential files held by the gambling regulator on the Caribbean island of Curaçao.
According to the report, one leaked file concerns the Santeda online casino network, which has been accused of illegally targeting vulnerable gamblers.
