Bogota mayor urges Chinese-led metro builders to add station workers

Colombia’s top auditor has warned that delays in multiple parts of the project could push the metro’s opening back to March 2028.

Bogota Mayor Carlos Fernando Galan urged the Chinese-led consortium building the city’s first metro line to send more workers to stations, calling the project a critical final stretch.

According to Galan, he made the request after Colombia’s top auditor warned that delays in several parts of the metro could move the opening date to March 2028, the SCMP Economy reported.

Galan said he believes the metro is now in its last phase, and he made the comments in an interview published by local news magazine Semana on Monday.
