Hong Kong fertility clinic cleared to resume all licensed IVF services
The clinic had been barred from 14 of its 17 licensed treatment services since July 8 after an embryo biopsy specimen mix-up involving two couples.
A Hong Kong fertility clinic, Heal Fertility in Central, was cleared to resume all of its licensed IVF treatment services after it implemented corrective improvement measures, according to the SCMP Economy.
The Council on Human Reproductive Technology said the clinic can restart all 17 treatment services covered by its licence from Tuesday, after a follow-up inspection and review confirmed required corrective steps were properly implemented.
Heal Fertility had been restricted since July 8, when it was barred from 14 of its 17 licensed services following an embryo biopsy specimen mix-up involving two patients couples. During the investigation period, it was only allowed to continue three services related to the storage of gametes and embryos.
