MAS expected to slightly tighten SGD NEER slope in October

Standard Chartered expects the SGD NEER slope to rise to 1.5% from 1.25%, with MAS keeping the currency band parameters unchanged.

FXStreet reports that Standard Chartered’s Edward Lee expects the Monetary Authority of Singapore to deliver another very slight tightening in October, based on its policy settings for the SGD NEER slope.

The forecast calls for the slope to be raised to 1.5% from 1.25%, while MAS would keep the band parameters unchanged.

Lee pointed to broader inflation, upside risks to prices, firm growth, and the view that some of the pre-emptive easing from the first half of 2025 is likely to be unwound, according to FXStreet.
