Conduit sues Tether over alleged USDt freeze of $2.76M

The lawsuit says Tether froze Conduit’s treasury wallet on Sept. 24, 2025, linking it to a Brazilian federal police probe launched in 2024.

Conduit Technology has filed a lawsuit against Tether, alleging the stablecoin issuer froze USDt held in Conduit’s wallet without explanation, according to Cointelegraph.

The cross-border payments platform claims Tether froze $2.76 million in USDt in September 2025, with the freeze tied to a Brazilian federal police investigation that began in 2024.

Cointelegraph reports the investigation involved financial intermediary Bull Intermediação de Negócios and Onix, and that Tether identified Conduit’s treasury wallet as connected to the matter using its own criteria.

Conduit says it repeatedly asked Tether to unfreeze the funds after the Sept. 24, 2025 freeze.
