Hyperliquid says it operates from Singapore but is not MAS licensed

A report cited MAS rules that treat crypto derivatives offered on approved exchanges differently from those provided outside that framework.

The Defiant reports that Hyperliquid has confirmed it is based in Singapore while stating it does not hold a MAS license.

The same report also says a Financial Times account of MAS's thinking frames Hyperliquid's decentralized venue as being outside the regulator's jurisdiction.

According to the report, Singapore distinguishes between crypto derivatives offered on approved exchanges and those offered elsewhere.
