Mortgage rates rise again, cutting refinance and homebuying demand

Mortgage rates rose again to the highest level in nearly three years, according to CNBC Real Estate.

The outlet said the increase pushed refinance demand down to about half of what it was a year ago.

CNBC Real Estate also reported that demand for both refinancing and homebuying declined further as higher rates weighed on borrowers.
