Tether signs deal with Kazakhstan central bank on tenge stablecoin pilot

The memorandum also includes a framework to tokenize real world assets and a pilot project in Alatau, Kazakhstan.

Tether has signed a memorandum of understanding with Kazakhstan’s central bank and the Alatau City Authority to explore a tenge pegged stablecoin pilot, along with an asset tokenization framework, according to Cointelegraph.

The agreement would study international stablecoin issuance models, identify potential use cases, and develop a proposal for a tenge-backed stablecoin pilot.

It also calls for identifying assets that could be tokenized and launching a pilot project in Alatau, as Kazakhstan looks to expand its digital asset industry.
