UCITS catastrophe bond funds near $21.8bn AUM after September
Assets under management rose 13.3% in 2026, supported by retained coupon earnings even as new issuance slowed late in the quarter.
UCITS catastrophe bond funds have continued to expand in 2026, with the sector nearing $21.8 billion in combined assets under management by the end of September, Artemis reported.
The funds added more than $2.5 billion of assets in 2026 so far, keeping growth positive even during hurricane season months when new catastrophe bond issuance typically pauses.
Artemis said retained earnings from coupon returns have helped bolster AUM as the strategy continued to take in assets, with combined AUM up 13.25% for the year through the end of September.
Through the third quarter, the UCITS cat bond funds grew by almost $1 billion, but the pace slowed in August and September as the new issuance pipeline dried up.
