Ledger investigates crypto losses tied to reseller CryptoBilis
Ledger asked reseller CryptoBilis to suspend sales and shipments as it investigates losses, and advised customers who bought devices in the past 90 days not to set them up.
Hardware wallet maker Ledger is investigating reports of cryptocurrency losses involving devices purchased from a Southeast Asian reseller, CryptoBilis, and warned affected customers to consider moving assets to new wallets while the probe continues, according to Cointelegraph.
In a statement posted on X, Ledger said it asked CryptoBilis to suspend sales and shipments of its devices as a precaution.
Cointelegraph also cited separate research estimating more than $72 million to $86 million in suspected crypto thefts tied to the matter, and Ledger told customers who bought devices from the reseller within the past 90 days not to set them up.
