Realty Income expands UK and Europe retail parks via acquisitions
The U.S.-listed REIT has built a UK and Europe portfolio valued at more than $18B over seven years.
Bisnow reports that Realty Income has increased its focus on UK and Irish retail parks and is now reaching into more of continental Europe, even as broader capital markets have stagnated.
According to the outlet, the REIT has assembled a portfolio worth more than $18B in the UK and Europe over the past seven years, and it is starting to bring joint venture partners into that portfolio.
Bisnow adds that Realty Income CEO Sumit Roy described the UK and Ireland as a “second engine” for growth, and said the company’s European rise during macroeconomic uncertainty depended on contrarian thinking, including “the courage to go against the tide.”
The outlet also notes that Realty Income is known for its monthly dividend payments and a single-tenant net lease portfolio.
