Boardwalk REIT highlights affordability as growth strategy
The REIT said it owns and operates more than 200 communities with over 33,000 units across five provinces.
Boardwalk REIT is positioning apartment affordability as a core driver of its operating model and long term growth, according to Nareit.
The Calgary based REIT said it owns and operates more than 200 communities with over 33,000 units across five provinces, with the largest concentration in Western Canada.
Nareit reported that Boardwalk has about $8.4 billion in assets and that around 60% of its portfolio is in Alberta, with roughly 70% in Alberta and Saskatchewan combined.
Boardwalk also linked its strategy to controlling costs, maintaining high occupancy, and supporting ongoing reinvestment aimed at offering multifamily properties among the most affordable across Canada.
