U.S. ETFs pull in $141 billion net flows in September 2026
Net inflows in September totaled nearly $141 billion, down from August’s $183 billion, lifting 2026 year-to-date inflows to about $1.5 trillion.
ETF Trends reports that the U.S. ETF industry drew nearly $141 billion in net flows in September 2026, down from $183 billion in net flows in August.
The monthly inflow brought total 2026 year-to-date inflows to about $1.5 trillion, with ETF assets under management at about $16.4 trillion by month-end.
ETF Trends also said active ETFs led new product launches last month, accounting for 75% of the 106 new ETFs entering the market, while advisors still allocated 60% of new assets into passive ETFs.
The outlet noted a shift in advisor allocation preferences, including a slowdown in U.S. equity ETF inflows as capital rotated toward international equities and ultrashort fixed income.
