China allows AI firms to buy Nvidia H200 after U.S. export approval
The U.S. approved Nvidia’s H200 for export to China in early 2026, while Beijing had previously limited Chinese purchases to push tech self-sufficiency.
SCMP Economy reports that China has moved to allow AI firms to buy Nvidia’s H200, following an unusual chip stand-off between Washington and Beijing.
The outlet says the U.S. approved the H200 for export to China in early 2026, while China previously restricted Chinese firms from purchasing it as it pursued tech self-sufficiency.
