IMF lifts UK growth outlook as Iran war impact fears ease

The IMF forecast puts UK GDP growth at 1.0% for 2024, ranking it third among G7 economies.

The Guardian Economics reports the IMF has upgraded its UK GDP growth forecast in a July World Economic Outlook update, citing hopes that the economic impact of the Iran war may be less severe than previously feared.

The update projects UK growth of 1.0% this year, while leaving growth forecasts for other G7 countries weaker or unchanged, according to the report.
