New Hampshire rejects $100M Bitcoin-backed bond after public hearing

A July 8 council hearing was set to determine whether BTC collateral would be routed into a government approval process for the bond.

New Hampshire has rejected a proposed $100 million bond backed by Bitcoin after a public finance hearing, according to CryptoSlate.

The outcome turns on whether the bond design could shift BTC collateral from a credit structure into a government approval process, the outlet said.

CryptoSlate noted that the July 8 council hearing was intended to show whether the arrangement would move forward under the state’s approval framework.

The decision follows the hearing’s review process for the proposed crypto-collateralized bond, with the state declining to advance the issuance.
