New York ISO midday electricity demand dips as small-scale solar rises
The shift is most pronounced in March and April, when lower demand makes solar generation’s impact larger.
The EIA reports that metered electricity demand in the New York ISO falls around midday as electricity generation from small-scale solar increases.
According to the EIA, the pattern is most notable in early spring, when declining load and favorable solar conditions make solar’s effect on demand particularly pronounced, especially in March and April.
