Beta completes first test flights in US air taxi pilot program

The company is working toward FAA certification to begin carrying passengers commercially.

Beta has wrapped its first test flights in the United States under a federal government pilot program, CNBC Markets reported.

The electric air taxi maker is among several companies competing to secure Federal Aviation Administration certification and transition from testing to commercial passenger service.

While Beta’s test flights mark progress within the pilot, the company’s next milestone remains obtaining FAA approval so it can fly passengers under commercial operations.
