Japan PPI rises faster than expected in June
Japan’s June producer prices climbed to 7.1% year over year, and the monthly figure was 0.4% after an expected 0.3%.
Japan’s June 2026 producer price index rose 7.1% year over year, beating expectations of 6.8% and following a prior reading of 6.3%, according to data published by the Bank of Japan.
On a monthly basis, Japan’s PPI increased 0.4% in June versus an expected 0.3%, after a prior 0.9% rise.
