U.S. to keep talking with Iran after ceasefire declared over
The ceasefire, signed last month, faced renewed strain after consecutive days of attacks between U.S. and Iranian forces.
CNBC Markets reports that President Donald Trump said the United States will continue talks with Iran even after declaring last month's ceasefire over.
The ceasefire agreement, which had helped halt months of conflict, came under serious strain in recent days as U.S. and Iranian forces exchanged attacks for consecutive days this week, according to CNBC World.
SCMP Economy reports that Trump said Iran had asked Washington to continue discussions, while the United States told Tehran that the ceasefire was finished.
The outlet notes that Trump said the U.S. had agreed to resume talks despite the breaches of the fragile truce.
