Robinhood to let eligible US users connect AI agents for crypto trades

Robinhood says more than 70,000 agentic accounts were created by equities and options traders since late May, and it plans to extend the feature to crypto customers after a beta launch.

Robinhood said its AI agent feature will soon be used by eligible US-based customers to connect third-party AI agents that can place crypto trades on their behalf, extending an autonomous-trading product the company first launched in beta for equities and options in May, according to Cointelegraph.

The brokerage said it is not yet providing a rollout date for crypto traders, but noted that UK customers would be next to access the offering. Robinhood also described the goal as allowing customers to work with agents to build strategies with guardrails without having to constantly monitor their accounts.

Cointelegraph reported that Robinhood has already enabled similar functionality for equities traders, including using AI agents to invest in crypto mining stocks. It also said more than 70,000 agentic accounts have been created by equities and options traders since late May.

Beyond trading, Robinhood is tying the push to its broader crypto strategy, including real-world asset tokenization and its Ethereum layer 2 Robinhood Chain. Cointelegraph added that the new blockchain processed 17 million transactions from nearly 350,000 wallet addresses in its first week.
