Trump warns Iran with threat of 1,000 missiles after assassination claims
The remarks follow a separate Treasury sanctions action targeting an alleged Iranian financier, according to CNBC.
Former President Donald Trump said Iran would face a strike if it attempts to assassinate him, and he tied the threat to a possible response scale of 1,000 missiles.
CNBC reports that Trump said the missiles are “locked and loaded” and would be used to hit Iran if the country carries out its alleged threats.
The CNBC coverage also notes that the comments came alongside a Treasury sanctions move targeting an alleged Iranian financier, adding an enforcement backdrop to the warning.
