Israeli strikes kill at least six in Gaza as ceasefire talks continue
Palestinian officials said air strikes hit locations including a tent encampment in Al-Bureij and a metal foundry in Gaza City, amid continued efforts to protect the US-brokered ceasefire.
Israeli attacks in Gaza on Sunday killed at least six people, including a 9-year-old girl, Palestinian health officials said, while mediators held talks aimed at safeguarding a US-brokered ceasefire, according to Reuters.
Medics said Israeli gunfire hit a tent encampment on the eastern side of the Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, killing 9-year-old Tala Abu Matar. The Israeli military said it was not aware of the incident.
Reuters also reported that an air strike at a metal foundry in Gaza City’s Sabra neighbourhood killed four people, with witnesses saying the site was hit with three Israeli missiles.
Separately, Reuters said an Israeli strike at a tent encampment in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis killed at least one person and wounded several others, including children, while the Israeli military said its forces had killed at least two Hamas fighters in northern Gaza since Thursday.
