Fed governor warns a hot inflation print could prompt an added hike
Christopher Waller said the Fed could raise rates again if inflation readings this week disappoint expectations.
Federal Reserve governor Christopher Waller said there is a chance the central bank may need to raise interest rates soon if upcoming inflation readings do not come in as expected, according to MarketWatch.
Waller’s comments point to how sensitive Fed rate expectations could be to the next set of inflation data releases, with a stronger than hoped inflation outcome increasing the odds of additional tightening.
