Trump says the US will take over and run the Strait of Hormuz
The comment raised the prospect of renewed military pressure around the Strait, a development traders linked to earlier moves in the euro and gold.
A phone interview on Fox highlighted Trump’s pledge to “keep the strait” and effectively run it, describing the US role as becoming the “guardian” of the Strait of Hormuz.
