MSIG USA adds three executives to its board as it scales specialty insurance
The appointments include finance, insurance regulation, and technology veterans, aligning with MSIG USA’s focus on growing its data-driven specialty insurance business in the United States.
MSIG USA, the US specialty insurance unit of MS&AD Insurance Group, expanded the board of MSIG Holdings (USA), Inc. with the appointments of Darin Stafford, Thomas R. Sullivan and Marc Gallo.
The company said the new directors are meant to strengthen governance capabilities as it continues to grow its data-driven specialty insurance business in the United States. Together with Chairman Martin J. Sullivan, the board now reflects more than a century of combined leadership experience across international insurance and financial services.
Stafford joins the board after more than three decades in financial leadership and governance, including service as former chief financial officer of Amwins, where he helped oversee expansion through acquisitions and capital raising. MSIG USA said Sullivan brings more than 40 years of experience, including roles at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, as Connecticut Insurance Commissioner, and at The Hartford.
Gallo adds technology and transformation experience, including a 29-year career at PwC focused on cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation, with the firm’s emerging technologies practice among his work. Reinsurance News reported that CEO Peter McKenna said the company is entering a period of growth and that board composition is essential to supporting its long-term strategy, including innovation and data use to improve business performance.
