The vessels involved, MT Al Bahiyah and MT Mombasa, had 46 crew members including 30 Indians, according to India’s foreign ministry.
India summoned Iran’s deputy chief of mission in New Delhi to lodge what it called a strong protest over attacks on two commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, after an Indian seafarer was killed and several others were wounded, according to SCMP Economy.
India said the two ships, MT Al Bahiyah and MT Mombasa, were attacked during their transit through the Strait of Hormuz and that it was deeply concerned by the incident.
In a statement, India’s foreign ministry said the vessels had 46 crew members in total, including 30 Indians, and reported that one of the Indian crew members tragically lost his life.
