Over 8 million barrels of oil transited Hormuz with US military help

CNBC World says ship traffic through the Strait fell as Iran attacks escalated and fresh fighting with the US emerged.

The US reported that more than 8 million barrels of oil transited the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday with military assistance, as tensions around the waterway escalated, according to CNBC World.

The outlet said ship traffic has declined as the security situation rapidly deteriorated, with Iran repeatedly attacking ships in the region.

CNBC World also tied the latest disruption to renewed clashes, citing fresh fighting between Iran and the US.
