United will let customers pay to keep the middle seat open
CNBC Markets reports that United Airlines will introduce an upsell option that allows customers to pay extra to keep the middle seat open on its Airbus A321XLR aircraft.
The feature is planned for travelers on those aircraft, giving customers an added option beyond standard seat assignments.
United’s change is aimed at preventing other passengers from occupying the middle seat on the specific A321XLR routes where the aircraft is used.
