CENTCOM confirms strikes against Iran near Strait of Hormuz

The report said the US Dollar Index was down 0.17% to about 100.77 despite the announcement.

FXStreet reports that US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed it carried out another round of strikes against Iran at 10 PM ET on July 14.

CENTCOM said it hit dozens of military sites near the Strait of Hormuz, described as a critical chokepoint for nearly 20% of the global energy supply, using precision munitions fired by US fighter jets, drones, and naval ships.

The article added that, at the time of writing, the US Dollar was under pressure, with the US Dollar Index (DXY) trading 0.17% lower at about 100.77.
