DTCC launches pilot to test tokenized stocks and U.S. Treasuries
The pilot, involving nearly 40 financial firms, will run blockchain-based tokenized assets through DTCC’s existing post-trade infrastructure, including collateral management and repo.
DTCC has launched a pilot program to test blockchain-based versions of tokenized stocks and U.S. Treasuries with nearly 40 financial institutions, according to Decrypt.
The initiative includes firms such as JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, BlackRock, Vanguard, and the New York Stock Exchange, and is designed to determine how tokenized assets can work within DTCC’s current post-trade infrastructure.
DTCC said the test will cover multiple back-office and trading functions, including collateral management, repo transactions, margin, and asset transfers, using tokenized assets held at DTCC.
DTCC indicated the goal is to show how “old and the new can live together” and build toward a scalable launch later this year, with the program testing tokenized representations of real-world assets across existing market rails.
