United Airlines tops earnings estimates as fuel costs surge
The airline said it expects an additional $6 billion in fuel costs, casting a shadow over the earnings win.
United Airlines posted results that beat analysts' expectations, with the company citing higher revenue across several cabin and fare categories, according to CNBC.
CNBC reports that United’s revenue rose for premium, corporate, and no-frills basic economy tickets, and that revenue increased for both domestic and international trips.
Despite the earnings beat, the company warned that it expects $6 billion in added fuel costs, highlighting pressure from higher energy expenses even as sales came in stronger.
