US launches second wave of strikes targeting Iranian military capabilities
The operation is aimed at Iranian capabilities used to threaten vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, Reuters said, while explosions were reported in Ahvaz.
Forexlive reports that US forces launched a second wave of strikes on Iran, with operations beginning at 3 PM.
The strikes are targeting Iranian military capabilities used to threaten vessels freely transiting through the Strait of Hormuz, according to Forexlive.
Iran's Mehr news agency said explosions were heard in Ahvaz, but their origin was not immediately known.
Ahvaz, near Iraq in Iran's Khuzestan Province, is described as sitting along the Karun River and roughly 1,100 kilometers southeast of its location referenced in the report, which the outlet says would suggest geographically widespread activity.
