1inch co-founder Anton Bukov exits operations and launches Second Tier

Bukov said he was fired in November 2025 after pushing for changes to 1inch management and operations.

Anton Bukov, a co-founder of the decentralized trading firm 1inch, said he is fully stepping away from the company’s operations after more than seven years, and he is launching a new project called Second Tier, according to Cointelegraph.

Bukov added that he left 1inch in 2025 after being “fired” in November 2025 following efforts to push for changes to the company’s management and operations, and he said he no longer takes part in 1inch’s operations, including product architecture and security oversight.

Cointelegraph reports that 1inch and Bukov gave conflicting messages online about his role starting last year, including a 1inch statement indicating he had not been actively involved in related organizations since December 2025.

Bukov remains a co-founder with 50% ownership in 1inch, and Cointelegraph says developer Sergej Kunz, who co-founded 1inch in May 2019 alongside Bukov, remains in charge, with Kunz stating the departure will not disrupt 1inch Network’s infrastructure or systems.
