Diesel prices top $5 a gallon again as Gulf disruptions persist
U.S. diesel prices have risen 33% since the start of the Iran war, after first crossing $5 per gallon in March.
Diesel prices in the United States have again moved above $5 a gallon, according to NYT Business, marking a fresh round of pressure in a market that already saw prices reach that level earlier this year.
The outlet links the renewed increase to renewed fighting in the Persian Gulf and reduced refinery capacity, both of which can tighten diesel supply and lift pump prices.
NYT Business said diesel prices first surpassed $5 per gallon in March, and have since climbed 33% since the start of the Iran war.
