Nvidia-backed Fireworks reaches $17.5 billion valuation as firms target cheaper AI

The company, once dependent on revenue from coding startup Cursor, has diversified over the past year as more customers pursue lower cost AI models.

Fireworks, the Nvidia-backed AI model provider, has reached a $17.5 billion valuation as more companies look for cheaper ways to deploy AI, according to CNBC Markets and CNBC World.

The firms’ shift toward lower cost AI models has supported Fireworks’ growth, the outlets said.

Fireworks previously relied heavily on revenue tied to coding startup Cursor, but it has diversified its customer and revenue sources over the past year as demand broadened.

As those buyers look to reduce deployment costs, Fireworks has positioned its model offerings to serve that new spending focus.
