Visa expects stablecoins to be used for micro-commerce in AI agent work

Visa said stablecoins are likely to play a role in micro-commerce as AI agentic systems take on more purchasing tasks, according to The Block.

In Visa’s view, agentic commerce will rely on a hybrid payment flow, combining traditional card rails with stablecoin rails during different parts of a single activity.

The Block reported that Visa expects this approach to help transactions move efficiently as AI agents execute multi-step commerce journeys.
