GameStop brings its catalog to Uber Eats via nationwide partnership
The deal lets customers order GameStop video games, consoles, and accessories from U.S. GameStop locations through the Uber Eats app.
GameStop and Uber announced a nationwide partnership on July 15 that makes GameStop's product catalog available on the Uber Eats marketplace for scheduled or on-demand delivery. Customers can browse GameStop items through the retail or electronics category in the Uber Eats app and order products such as video games, gaming consoles, accessories, collectibles, and other electronics from GameStop locations across the U.S.
Uber positions the move as part of a broader effort to expand its non-restaurant delivery offering beyond food. According to Yahoo Finance, Uber's head of grocery and retail for North America pointed to a growing expectation that gaming essentials and collectibles should be accessible on demand, including options like replacing a controller before game night or buying a new release on launch day.
For GameStop, the partnership is framed as an adaptation of its brick-and-mortar retail model to modern delivery behavior, potentially supporting incremental same-day sales without the need for major proprietary logistics investment. The article also notes that GameStop and Uber shares have shown muted movement, suggesting investors may view the partnership as incremental rather than transformational.
The timing comes as competition among last-mile non-food delivery platforms intensifies, with DoorDash also announcing a deeper retail integration with Shopify merchants while expanding other retailer partnerships. Yahoo Finance added that Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Amazon are all competing to become a dominant platform for on-demand non-food commerce.
