Saudi PIF completes $55 billion takeover of Electronic Arts
Shareholders received $210 a share in cash, and the deal removes EA from the Nasdaq after the Saudi-led consortium bought the company.
The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia completed its $55 billion purchase of Electronic Arts, closing the transaction alongside investors including Silver Lake and Jared Kushner's Affinity Partners, according to Yahoo Finance.
The article says shareholders received $210 per share in cash, after which EA stopped trading and was taken off the Nasdaq, ending a 36-year run as a public company.
Yahoo Finance also reports that PIF already owned about 9.9% of EA before the buyout and borrowed $20 billion from JPMorgan for financing, with JPMorgan advising the consortium.
The piece adds that EA generated about $7.5 billion in revenue last fiscal year and now carries $20 billion in acquisition debt.
