Silver Spring seniors housing redevelopment expands to 236 units

The Springvale Terrace project will demolish the existing 1960s property and add more than 90 units, increasing capacity for low- and moderate-income seniors.

Enterprise Community Development, in partnership with Seabury Resources for Aging, announced the redevelopment of Springvale Terrace, an existing seniors housing community in Silver Spring, Maryland.

The plan replaces the aging property originally built in the 1960s, which currently has 146 units, with a new, modern mixed-income community designed to support aging in place.

The redevelopment calls for demolition of the existing structure and construction of a new 236-unit senior community to be known as The Springvale, with one- and two-bedroom apartments and modern amenities.

KGD Architecture is handling the design, and MHG P.A provides engineering, with construction led by Bozzuto, according to ConnectCRE.
