US plans more Israel refueling planes amid possible Iran escalation
The report says the US wants to raise Israel refueling capacity to levels seen at the start of the war, a move analysts link to added risk premium for oil markets.
The Trump administration has notified Israel that it is sending dozens more refueling planes as the US weighs a possible expansion of military operations against Iran, according to Forexlive citing Axios.
The report says Trump is considering a wider offensive that could include strikes targeting Iranian infrastructure such as power plants, and additional attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities.
Forexlive added that oil has moved higher as the development circulates and noted uncertainty about why the information was leaked.
The report also says the US aims to bring the number of refueling planes to the same level it had at the beginning of the war.
