Highline Commerce renews Industry City lease, adds 18,000 SF

The logistics firm expanded its Sunset Park warehouse footprint to 60,000 square feet under a five-year deal at $28 per square foot.

Third-party logistics provider Highline Commerce is expanding its industrial space at Brooklyn’s Industry City for the second time in four years, Commercial Observer reports. Highline renewed its lease for space at 67 34th Street in the Sunset Park neighborhood, adding another 18,000 square feet to its warehouse. The five-year agreement brings Highline’s total footprint at the mixed-use campus to 60,000 square feet, with the space remaining largely dedicated to fulfillment operations, plus some office space and social rooms.

Highline’s growth is tied to automation in its fulfillment workflow, including a partnership with fellow Industry City tenant Ultra Robotics. An Industry City spokesperson said “humanoid robots” are fulfilling up to 30 percent of Highline’s clients’ orders.

The company negotiated directly with Industry City representatives Jeff Fein and Brad Blum, the landlord’s in-house team. Asking rent was $28 per square foot, and Highline said it plans to stay at Industry City as long as it can keep growing.
