US beef export sales data revised sharply downward by USDA
The change has drawn criticism from ranchers who tied the deterioration to weaker conditions for U.S. beef export sales.
MarketWatch reports that the USDA made a large revision to its beef export sales data, reflecting a noticeable deterioration in the figures.
The outlet says ranchers described the revision as another sign of worsening conditions, using a metaphor about “driving one more nail into the proverbial coffin.”
