US strikes target Iran after deaths of American troops
The US said it also located remains in Jordan tied to a separate Iranian attack that killed two US troops and left one missing in action.
The United States said it launched airstrikes aimed at “punish[ing]” Iran after the first US military deaths since renewed hostilities, Bloomberg reported, citing the US account of the incidents.
Separately, the US reported that a controlled detonation of a downed Iranian drone in northern Iraq killed another American service member. US Central Command also said it located unidentified remains in Jordan, where a separate Iranian attack left two US troops dead and one missing in action.
